Nikos Haritakis was born and works in Crete. Mastering the art of glassblowing, in 1986 he founded a glass blowing studio in Agia Galini in Rethymno.

For his creations he recycles glass from bottles, windows and anything else made in glass that is thrown away, creating free blown forms without moulds.

In his works he tries to capture the lines and colours that appear in the natural environment that surrounds him: the green colour of the olives and the brown of the dry land after a long summer, the soft light blue of the sky after dawn, the deep blue of the sea, the curves and soft lines that appear everywhere in nature.

Through these he expresses his love for nature, the simple pleasures in life and his homeland, Crete.
